Custom Battery Packs for Power Tools
A power tool battery must deliver high current on demand without losing voltage or overheating. Jetray builds custom Li-ion packs for cordless drills, drivers, saws, garden tools and floor-care tools, for tool brands and OEMs.
What decides the pack
- 01Peak and continuous current. A drill or saw pulls much more than average. The cells must hold voltage under that load.
- 02Heat. High current warms the cells, so layout and a temperature check matter.
- 03Voltage platform. 12 V, 18 V, 20 V (max) and higher, set by the tool.
- 04Capacity. Parallel cells set run time.
- 05Weight and balance. The pack is part of the tool in the hand.
Choose the cells
Brands we can offer include Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Molicel and EVE. Send the tool's peak current, voltage and the pack space. Cell selection →

High-discharge 18650
- Fits
- Drills, drivers, small saws
- Note
- Common, wide supply

High-discharge 21700
- Fits
- Heavier tools and longer run time
- Note
- Larger cell, more energy

LiFePO4
- Fits
- Tools needing very stable chemistry
- Note
- Lower energy per kg
Pack, BMS and tool communication

The BMS guards against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit and high temperature. For brand tools, the pack and tool can exchange data over a communication link. UART, CAN and Bluetooth can be set up to your requirement. We supply a matching charger, and we match the connector and terminal layout to your tool. BMS design →
New tools and replacement packs
- 01New tool we design the pack with you from the tool's specification, and build samples.
- 02Replacement pack for your own tool line: send the pack, drawing and connector, and we match the size and electrical specification.
Documents, samples and delivery
UN38.3, IEC 62133 and MSDS documents are available, with transport and certification reports for the shipment.
Other standards depend on your market. Custom battery pack samples are charged, and you test them on your tool. Custom packs usually take one to two months. MOQ depends on the product. Quality and certification →

Mistakes that cost time on tool battery projects
Choosing cells for capacity only
Tools pull high current. Pick cells for discharge ability first, then capacity.
Ignoring heat
Heavy use warms the pack. Tell us the duty so we plan cell spacing and BMS temperature limits.
Leaving out the tool handshake
Many tools check the battery through a signal pin. Share the interface early.
Fitting problems
The pack must slide, latch and connect in your tool. A sample in your tool shows this fast.
Forgetting the charger
The charger must match the pack's cells and cell count.
